Welcome. Välkomna. Bienvenue. Tervetuloa. Aloha. Salve. Fàilte.
After gaining my degree in International Relations from Plymouth University, I wanted to become a defence correspondent, but then realised that would probably never happen... Kate Adie I am not, though I can rock body armour and a helmet if need be. I started this blog as something to do around work (maritime security).
I'm not at work, I'm usually found by the sea, up a hill or in the gym!
I love to travel, am a sucker for a mountain and my blog is very outdoorsy. This year I'm fortunate to have been chosen as an Ordnance Survey GetOutside Champion, helping to inspire more people to get out and about in the great British countryside!
There is also a nautical theme running through my blog, as I adore the sea and all things relating to it. I sail, I teach Sea Cadets and have tried almost every water-sport imaginable. I blog about all things sailing over at Southampton Focus as well!
Fun fact: I was a quarter finalist on Mastermind with a specialist subject of 'The Life and Career of Horatio Nelson'.
Last year I reached the summit of Kilimanjaro and am in the planning stage of my next adventure!
