I was sent the Chenin Blanc Camper Vin recently and have to say I'm a big fan...
Firstly, I love a good pun and so when this arrived on my doorstep it instantly made me smile, but also it was in a box shaped like a VW Camper!
Perfect for taking on sunny summer adventures!
Thankfully it happened to be a sunny day, and we were having a spontaneous birthday BBQ for my Gran.
What better way to put my own adventurous twist on it!
It's a standing joke with all my friends, but I did used to work for Majestic Wine, so that explains it a little...
This is a Chenin Blanc, which is actually the most widely planted grape in South Africa and one of the most popular. The Camper Vin (I still love this pun a bit too much) is described as 'fresh and fruity' on the packaging, a characteristic synonymous with the South African wines, and with aromas of apple, tropical fruits and blossoms it's very drinkable!
At 12.5% it was quite strong, but everyone seemed to be a fan. I would say this is the perfect wine to take along to a BBQ, festival or picnic. It has a capacity of 2.25 litres which is about the same volume as 3 bottles of wine, and the Camper Vin seal means that this wine will stay fresh for up to six weeks after opening, if you don't finish it.
Remember you have to be over the age of 18.
