It's held in Templecombe, Somerset and involves re-enactors and living history folk from all over the world. There are a number of events over the weekend including a jester, music, jousting, falconry and a battle.
The History of Templecombe
The Templars were suppressed in the early 1300's and after this the preceptory was passed over to the Knight's of St. John (Hospitallers) until the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII in the 1500's - There was a Time Team dig in Templecombe around this topic - Link here!
So, as you can see, Templecombe is the perfect location to hold a mediaeval pageant.
Tournament of Knights
I adore watching birds of prey, I went on a falconry course a few years ago in the New Forest with my mum and brother and it was absolutely amazing. They are such spectacular animals.
Battle of Templecombe
I do have a few photo's of the living history area including re-enactors getting ready for battle. So it's not a total loss!
Even a bar for the adults, selling cider and mead.
